"What Shropshire means to me"

We have launched a competition to find 12 photographs to feature in a one-off 2011 Charity Calendar. Money raised from the sale of the Calendars will go to The Prince's Trust.

Shropshire Council and Müller Dairy are very proud of their Shropshire home and have themed the competition What Shropshire means to me. So if you are a budding amateur photographer and have taken a photo or can take a photo that illustrates what Shropshire means to you, see the 'how to enter' section below.

Not only will you get the honour of featuring in the charity calendar but there are also some great prizes to be won, with local food hampers for all 12 winners, and the overall winner will get a breathtaking view of Shropshire from the air on a Virgin Balloon flight for 2!

But even if you don’t win, your photo may be displayed in an exhibition of entries at Shrewsbury Castle in October.

The Princes Trust helps change young lives by giving practical and financial support to young people enabling them to move into work, education or training.

The money raised from the Calendar sales will go directly to The Prince’s Trust in the West Midland’s, helping tackle the problems facing young people within the area.

So don’t delay. Send us your photos now and show us what Shropshire means to you.

How to enter:

  1. Take a photo in Shropshire which illustrates your interpretation of the brief “What Shropshire means to me” (the photo must have been taken by the entrant in Shropshire, and entries are restricted to one per person).
  2. Where possible photos should be supplied as a high quality jpeg (preferably 300dpi) and the preferred size is 15cm x 25cm.
  3. Submit your photo by completing the form below. 4. Closing date: 17:00hrs on 1st October 2010
